Numerical solution of one-dimensional Burgers equation: explicit and exact-explicit nite di erence methods
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents nite-di erence solution and analytical solution of the nite-di erence approximations based on the standard explicit method to the one-dimensional Burgers equation which arises frequently in the mathematical modelling used to solve problems in uid dynamics. Results obtained by these ways for some modest values of viscosity have been compared with the exact (Fourier) one. It is shown that they are in good agreement with each other. c © 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. AMS classi cation: 65N06

Numerical solution of the one dimensional non-linear Burgers equation using the Adomian decomposition method and the comparison between the modified Local Crank-Nicolson method and the VIM exact solution
The Burgers’ equation is a simplified form of the Navier-Stokes equations that very well represents their non-linear features. In this paper, numerical methods of the Adomian decomposition and the Modified Crank – Nicholson, used for solving the one-dimensional Burgers’ equation, have been compared. These numerical methods have also been compared with the analytical method. In contrast to...

We investigate numerical valuation of cross-currency interest rate-based derivatives under Babbs' extended Vasicek-style model by numerical solution of the associated partial di erential equation (PDE) | in particular, we consider the terminable di erential (di ) swap. Firstly we precisely formulate, in terms of their cash ows, various types of single and cross-currency swaps and swaptions. We ...
متن کاملComparison of The LBM With the Modified Local Crank-Nicolson Method Solution of Transient Two-Dimensional Non-Linear Burgers Equation
Burgers equation is a simplified form of the Navier-Stokes equation that represents the non-linear features of it. In this paper, the transient two-dimensional non-linear Burgers equation is solved using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM). The results are compared with the Modified Local Crank-Nicolson method (MLCN) and exact solutions. The LBM has been emerged as a new numerical method for sol...
متن کاملHigher-order accurate numerical solution of unsteady Burgers' equation
Higher-order accurate finite-difference schemes for solving the unsteady Burgers’ equation which often arises in mathematical modeling used to solve problems in fluid dynamics are presented. The unsteady Burgers’ equation belongs to a few nonlinear partial differential equations which has an exact solution, and it allows one to compare the numerical solution with the exact one, and the properti...

Direct numerical simulation of transitional and turbulent hypersonic boundary layers using the Navier-Stokes equations requires high-order accurate numerical methods to resolve a wide range of time and length scales. Compact or explicit nite di erence methods used for such simulation have mainly been central di erence schemes containing only phase errors without any numerical dissipation. Centr...
